A solid reputation and loyal following has put DEAN FUEL at the forefront of the South African dance scene, having already performed alongside global legends such as the current world number 1 DJ Armin van Buuren, as well as other top ranking DJ’s and acts including the likes of David Guetta, Basement Jaxx, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Kaskade, Sonique, Snow Patrol and even Jamiroquai! DEAN is also a permanent feature on all major international tours of SA, including the likes of Pacha, Godskitchen, Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, Gatecrasher, Renaissance and Global Underground. One of the hardest working players in the music scene today – DEAN FUEL has sparked interest overseas from cities as far away as Paris, Dubai, London and more! DEAN’S distinctive musical style is versatile, and uniquely his own – fusing an intercontinental blend of minimal, funk, tech, house, electro and progressive – DEAN adds that something special to every event, igniting all dance floors and keeping them burning with his passion and infectious energy delivered through the turntables – ITS ALL ATTITUDE! The perfectionist within him ensures he continuously hones his skills with many hours spent laboring in his studio, always looking for new and innovative ways to push the boundaries of his craft. This dedication has been tried and tested on numerous dancefloors all over the country and beyond, securing an ever-growing fan-base of loyal partygoers –DEAN’S reputation and appeal continue to grow. Born into a family where music was not only a passion but also a way of life, being the son of Mike Fuller, a member of the famous South African band ‘The Dealins’, DEAN took to the world of music from an early age. Drawing on a diverse musical background, driven by inspirational live-sets from the greats Carl Cox, Sasha & Digweed, and Jeff Mills – he nurtured an overwhelming desire to be a DJ. Taking his natural flair for mixing, he honed his abilities as a creative DJ and producer – supported by a truly formidable record collection, and a studio full of hi-tech hardware and gadgets. DEAN’S edge also comes from his skills at creating his own music. His accomplishments include having released the ‘Opium’ (2006) Album to high regard, as well as featuring numerous tracks and collaborations produced by the man himself on prominent dance compilations worldwide. The song “Trippin’ Out” (with Sentrafuge) was featured on the hugely successful ‘House Anthems 4’ (2007) album, mixed by Dean himself and selling over 10000 copies, further and became the leading track for the ‘Kiss FM’ album. Another collaboration track, ‘Sexy Hippie’ (with Metcalfe) has been signed to Danish progressive label, IBOGA Records, and features on their critically acclaimed ‘Set 7: Declivity’ compilation, thus marking the beginning of an international career for this talented producer. His collaboration with Sentrafuge – “Wild Ride” was signed to illustrious international label PLASTIK PARK and saw a worldwide release on their album – ‘Reloaded Vol. 3’. A specially recorded “vocal” mix of this single featured as the title track named “This One’s For You” on the ‘House Anthem 7’ (2008) CD release, once again co-mixed by the man himself, and again selling tens of thousands of copies nationwide. The last few years have been a whirlwind of success, and, not prepared to slow down for a moment, this year looks set to be even more successful! 2007 and 2008 saw him completing nationwide club tours – promoting the runaway hit albums ‘House Anthems 4’ and ‘House Anthems 7’ CDs. In 2009 alone, Dean was selected to tour with global legends Sasha, Digweed, Mark Knight and Armin van Buuren to name a few, opening for each of them respectively on their sold-out tours of South Africa. 2010 saw Dean set the weekends alight as a co-host on GoodHope Fm’s Friday night slot ‘Night funk with Mixi’, as well as his own show on the very popular Internet radio 2ocenasvibe, with Seth Rotherham. With a commission to put together another CD mix compilation, many more original studio productions and top artist remixes in the pipelines, a full slate of club and tour dates, including the exciting U2 concert, DEAN is set to further increase his reach in 2011 and has global domination firmly in his sights. The only DJ to have played alongside 8 of the top 10 DJ’s in the world (DJ MAG 2010), Dean FUEL is blazing an upward trail like no other.
